Learning to Fly

A personal blog by Prateek Modi

Inspiration is a drug which we need every now and then. Especially because our political and social environment is becoming negative with each passing day. Mentally disturbed people are leading hugely populated countries such as India and Pakistan. A bunch of retards, not role models,  are ripping the planet apart, making it a sure shot hell for our kids.
Every time things become intolerable, angels do fly in and help us mortal beings open our eyes. Widen our horizons. And give us hope.
Here's some inspiration which might help if you're feeling down and low. Especially if you're fighting against someone to make a change.

“The person who can act without considering success or failure is truly wise.”

-Lord Krishna

“All great artists and thinkers are great workers, indefatigable not only in inventing, but also in rejecting, sifting, transforming, ordering.”

-Friedrich Nietzsche

“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.”

-Edward Everett Hale

“If you have time to whine and complain about something then you have the time to do something about it.”

-Anthony J. D’Angelo, The College Blue Book

“Those who control their passions do so because their passions are weak enough to be controlled.”

-William Blake

“Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun.”

-Pablo Picasso

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world, the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”

-George Bernard Shaw

“Be the change you want to see.”

– Mahatma Gandhi

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

– Steve Jobs

“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced.”

– Swami Vivekananda

“I decided that if I didn’t get anywhere by the time I was 20, I would pack it in. Of course it didn’t really matter what happened because I wouldn’t have packed it in anyway. The whole scene was amazement, enlightenment, a total tripout. You just cannot reproduce those moments…You can’t give up something you really believe in for financial reasons. If you die by the roadside – so be it. But at least you know you’ve tried. Ten minutes in the music scene was the equal of one hundred years outside of it.”

– Robert Plant

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
